Rumor has it that Pampers were recalling their new “Dry Max Technology” diapers due to complaints of rashes and chemical burns. After consulting with other professionals and doing some research myself, it turns out that the recall never happened. Instead, Pampers did some investigating into the claims and they are still evaluating the situation. It appears that they have received mixed reports of reactions children have had; many families report no noticeable change, while few others have complained of strange rashes. Pampers have improved their diapers with a new “dry max technology” and it is possible that some children’s skin may be sensitive to this change. Unless Pampers recalls these diapers or we see outbreaks here, we will continue to use Pampers brand of diapers. Please do not hesitate to inform us of any concerns you may have.

We are beginning an exciting new program this summer for our Preschoolers. To take the place of summer swimming, the children will be going bowling three days a week at Zeppoz from 11 a.m. to 12 p.m. They are offering a program for children to bowl 2 free games a day. In addition to bowling, the children will continue to visit the library on Thursdays and attend field trips around the community on Tuesdays. The field trips will be similar to the ones the children attended last summer. The total cost of the summer field trips is $12.00 per child. This fee will be reflected on this month’s bill for children enrolled in the summer. Only a few field trips have a fee, therefore, if your child misses a field trip that has a charge, you will be reimbursed. Permission slips have been sent home in a packet for all families. Please complete and return each permission slip.

Registration for fall enrollment will be due by Thursday, July 1st, 2010. The $25 Re-Registration fee (per child) will be waived if forms are submitted by the deadline. The forms are enclosed and include: a PCCC Child Registration form, Medical Release form, Emergency Contact form, and a 2010-2011 Time Block Contract. We are now required by the Washington State Department of Early Learning to have our PCCC Child Registration forms updated annually. Please thoroughly complete one for each child enrolled in the Center. If registration forms are incomplete, parents will be asked to come to the PCCC office to fill-in any missing information.
